A.P. Willits Fourth Graders Visit Alley Pond!

A.P. Willits Fourth Graders Visit Alley Pond!

Our fourth-grade explorers had a fantastic time at the Alley Pond Environmental Center in Douglaston, NY! The trip was a perfect hands-on extension of our science curriculum, focusing on how animals and plants adapt to the changing seasons.

The students were thrilled to get up close and personal with several of the center’s animal ambassadors, including a pigeon, box turtle, guinea pig, snake, rabbit, and stick bugs. Seeing these creatures firsthand helped bring our lessons on survival and habitat to life. We wrapped up the day with a beautiful nature walk through the trails, observing the environment firsthand as it prepares for the new season. It was a wonderful, memorable day of learning in nature!
